What Is the JLR Engineering Tool?

The JLR Engineering Tool — JET for short, known in the China market as SX-Tool — is an independent software suite for diagnostics, coding and programming on DoIP-based Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles. It communicates over a standard ENET connection and gives independent workshops dealer-level functions without Pathfinder's online dependency or subscription pricing.

The JET Tool Family

The JET suite is split by job type, so you only pay for the capability your workshop actually uses. JET Master is the full engineering flagship, JET Pro covers diagnostics and coding, JET LS is the locksmith-only edition, and the CCF tools handle configuration file editing. All editions share the same ENET connection and support channel.

Which JET Tool Should You Choose?

Hardware Requirements

All JET tools are DoIP-based and work with the JLR ENET Wi-Fi adapter, a 3-in-1 auto DoIP interface, or any regular ENET cable. A genuine JLR DoIP VCI also works once Pathfinder has connected to it first. A Windows 10/11 laptop with internet for activation completes the setup.

Three Steps to Enable JLR Features

Most feature activations with the JET suite follow the same safe sequence: connect, configure, then verify. The whole process takes minutes once the software is installed, and our how-to videos show each step on real vehicles before you try it yourself.

1. Click and Set — connect via ENET, read the CCF, choose parameters, set and write current data (or use a coding script).
2. CCF Memory — in the MAIN menu panel, open CCF Memory and choose "DADC + IGM" so the car relearns the configuration.
3. Clear DTC and sleep the car — check and clear fault codes, lock the car, and let it sleep for 10 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does JET mean? JET stands for JLR Engineering Tool — in the China market the same platform is called SX-Tool (Super X). The family consists of JET Pro, JET Master and JET LS (Locksmith).

Do JET tools support SDD-era vehicles? No. JET tools work with DoIP vehicles only — broadly MY2017 onward. For older CAN-bus cars, use JLR SDD with a compatible VCI or our SDD Engineering Master (SX-CAN) package.

Can JET virginise a used BCM? Yes — JET Master can virginise a used BCM and rewrite the VIN over ENET. If you prefer a technician to do it with you, book a session through JLR remote repair.
