Compatibility Notes

Classic vehicles (pre-2017, approximately) run through SDD over CAN. Newer platforms use Pathfinder and TOPIx Cloud over DoIP. The interface follows the SAE J2534 pass-thru standard, so it also works with other OEM applications and third-party software beyond the JLR toolchain.

Before You Order

Note your vehicle's model year, VIN and the diagnostic platform you need — SDD for CAN vehicles from 1999 to ~2016, Pathfinder and TOPIx Cloud for DoIP vehicles from 2017 onward. One interface covers both generations, but software licences are purchased per platform. Check the laptop you will use as well: a current Windows installation, a stable USB port and reliable internet for TOPIx Cloud programming are required. Unsure which generation a vehicle belongs to? Frequently Asked Questions

Does the SX-Tool interface work with both SDD and Pathfinder? Yes. It communicates over classic CAN for SDD-era vehicles (1999–~2016) and native DoIP for Pathfinder-era platforms (2017–present). The correct protocol is selected automatically — there is nothing to switch manually.

Do I still need a TOPIx Cloud subscription? For diagnostics, no.
