A remote session is a live appointment, not a ticket queue: you connect the vehicle at the booked time and our technician does the specialist work while you watch. This is the flow.

4. Test together — every session ends with a functional check before sign-off, and you receive a session summary for your records.

What You Need on Site

The vehicle side of a remote session is deliberately simple: a compatible interface, a laptop with stable internet and a supported battery cover almost every job we run.

• A Windows laptop with a stable internet connection (wired preferred for programming work)
• A compatible JLR interface — the SX-Tool JLR Diagnostic Interface is purpose-built for remote sessions, with stable Wi-Fi handling; other native DoIP VCIs also work
• A battery support unit holding 13.5–14.8 V for any programming work (we advise per job — voltage sag mid-flash is the number one cause of bricked modules)
• The vehicle itself, any parts for hardware retrofits already fitted, and proof of ownership for security-related work

Can you recover a module that another tool bricked? In most cases, yes. Bricked and SOTA-locked modules usually retain their bootloader and accept recovery programming. Our module repair and recovery service handles remote recovery and mail-in bench work when the vehicle-side route fails.

Do I need a TOPIx Cloud account for remote programming? No — the session uses our infrastructure and accounts. That is the point of the service: you get dealer-level online programming without buying subscriptions or learning the toolchain yourself.
